Evaluation

Creating a questionnaire before and after i had produced my magazine has helped my to analyse how i could have improved where i went wrong and what bits i got right that woudl appeal to the audience.
I first decided that my magazine genre would be pop and would be aimed at younger girls, as i believe there arent many on the market directly aimed at that age focusung on that type of music.
Creating my mood board helped me think about what would be featured in teh magazine and how the artists would look. I decided i would us ethe stereotypical colour that symbloises 'girls' to make the magazine stand out and attract young girls.
My original main artists unfortunately couldnt go through with taking any more pictures for my front cover or article, however i learnt that i would need to make the pictures look more fun and funky for that age group and used this on creating the look for 'HeadCandy'. At first i struggled using photoshop to cut out my pictures and seperate them from the background, i found it hard to be so accurate about minor detail, however after practice it became easier and i was then able to add effect it hope to improve the proffessionalism of the pictures.
I took me quite a while also to create the fading pink effect on the front cover, i felt that teh colour would reflect the feminisim of the magazine. I made a spider diagram for coming up with names for the magazine, and i finally decided on the simple but shortest 'POP!' written in funky writing i think this name clearly gave away what genre the magazine was and was perfect for the age range.

Audience feedback!

To get audience feedback on the magazine i created i printed it off, and showed ten people who suited the age range to then fill in a questionnaire. This could help me evaluate whether my magazine was successful or not.
Questions asked:

Does the front cover of the magazine appeal to you?

Do you feel the price of the magazine appropriate?

What on the magazine stands uou to you?

What does the title of the magazine suggest to you?

What makes the magazine look proffessional, and what prevents it from looking proffesional?

How genuine does the front cover seem?

Does the contents page simly inform or does it manage to interest you in reading the rest of the magazine?

Does the article sound like a piece of journalism? If not, what bits dont sound right?

Does the article layout make you want to read it? If not, why not?

Article finished!

My article has been completed and i decide to go for a white plain background so that it was easier for young girls to read. Following the pink scheme i typed the article up in pink, and used a pink border to make it decorative. I used a 'fun' looking font for the headline 'HeadCandy' so it would stand out against the bright colour, yellow. I edited all my pictures, the main one using a blur and contrasting effect so they stood out. The two pictures of the girls in a pink background again have a contrast effect and i have used a pink colour to follow the scheme and make them look more 'girly'.

Contents page finished!

My contents page is completed and i have used photoshop to create a splash effect background and have used the same font as i originally did on the front cover. I have two pictures of 'Claudia' who is modeling the 'summer collection' inside the magazine. I used a contrast effect for the picture of 'HeadCandy' to make their faces stand out.

Front cover finished!

My completed page has two pictures one of the main models of the band 'HeadCandy' and one smaller picture of 'Claudia' who is also featured in the magazine. I have used a variety of fonts, and followed the main colour scheme of pink an blue.

Beth: I don’t know about `big stars' but we want to show girls that have the dream we have had since we were tiny, that it can be done!
The two-glam girlies who have said
`We dream to conquer the world' have certainly made a superb start!
They have been best friends, sisters and singing together all their lives, and have written most of their songs themselves about their experiences through childhood and growing up together! We hear you two both have very lucky fellas?
(both laugh)
Antonia: I don’t know whether I'd agree with that!
(Both laugh again)
Beth: Especially `cause we're always busy and mega grumpy half the  time!
So unfortunately for all those guys grueling over them, they aren't available!
Did you ever used to argue over boys?
Beth; We love this question `cause we actually didn't we just made boys argue over us!
Antonia: We have played many tricks when we were younger, we still laugh about them now!
Currently your rehearsing for your tour? How’s that?
Antonia: oh its so much fun, we just laugh all the time and we get on really well with everyone we work with!
Beth: We are always mega tired at the end of the day, but we just cannot wait for are very first tour, we are so excited! We just hope are fans enjoy it as much as we enjoy performing to them!

Beth: Learning some of them dance moves was so hard but it was new, for us! We just hope are fans like it!
Has your dress sense always been so different?
Beth: Since we became ‘HeadCandy’ we have chosen outfits we wear carefully, we don’t wanna clash when we’re together, but we have are own style!
Antonia: I suppose it’s are hair colour and our big personalities that make us different!
Beth, your seen as more of a ‘Rock Chick’ and Antonia your seen as more of a ‘girly girl’, would you agree with that?
(Both look at each other)
Antonia; Yeah, I guess we’ve always been seen in that light, now more than ever!
Wht tips would you give young girls wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Beth: You can achieve your dream you just have to go out there and get it! Its hard work, it just takes ambition and will power!
